Forest School
Forest School at The Peak Federation offers primary-aged children a welcoming, outdoor learning experience that supports curiosity, confidence, and wellbeing. Our approach encourages children to learn through practical, hands-on activities in natural settings, with adults guiding children to take safe, age-appropriate risks and build resilience over time.
Each session is designed around exploring the outdoors, using the changing seasons and local environments to spark questions and develop new skills. Children may practice observation, teamwork, and problem-solving through activities such as nature walks, sensory games, and creative learning inspired by the woodland and surrounding landscape of the Peak District. We believe Forest School strengthens the whole child by promoting social development, emotional regulation, and a positive attitude towards learning.
